Community Support and Social Media Coordinator


Summary

You will support TCI's community of subscribers by answering customer tickets, offering phone support, and creating dynamic help resources for customers implementing our program. You will also be responsible for improving subscription usage and renewals by engaging our customer community through a variety of communications—social media, web content, and support videos. In addition, you will bring the customer voice into TCI via user experience and customer community groups to help us improve our product and better meet the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, be active on a variety of social networks, and have outstanding interpersonal communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Answer support tickets and phone calls to improve subscription activation and useage
  • Monitor and update TCI social networking sites (Facebook Page, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, Blog, Pinterest...) to engage and grow our fan base
  • Create a consistent stream of fresh, clever, and creative content that engages and educates our user community
  • Assist with developing social media marketing campaigns
  • Partner with internal and external experts to create, produce, and distribute engaging help and support resources on a regular basis
  • Organize and analyze key social and support analytics
  • Be a part of the team and process for creating an exceptional user experience for all TCI users

Department Overview

The infrastructure team supports a wide variety of technologies to ensure that both our customers and our staff have access to easy-to-use online software and tools. As a key member of this team, you will evaluate, configure, and upgrade database platforms. (And be a hero in K-12 classrooms for making it so much easier for teachers to teach).


Position Summary

The Database Administrator will work directly with TCI's Controller, Network and Systems Architect, Operations Manager and others to make an impact from day one. A few key projects currently in the works are:

  • Optimizing a batch update process in PostgreSQL that updates 50,000 records at a time
  • Creating seamless integrations between NetSuite and SalesForce to ensure sales and accounting are on the same page
  • Moving our Postgres database server to the cloud with redundancy in our local environment

This position is for a driven database administrator who wants to work with a dynamic team that is never satisfied with "good enough".


Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in databases
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux operating systems (Redhat/CentOS flavor preferred)
  • Experience with NetSuite/SalesForce a plus
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

About the Position

The Front-End Developer addresses both design and interaction elements with TCI's subscriptions. On the design front, the Front-End Developer will be responsible for keeping the look of the subscription consistent, current, and intuitive. On the interaction side, there will be a combination of JavaScript features, HTML5 interactions, and other tools to allow TCI to develop cutting-edge features for teacher and student use.

The Production Intern works closely with both software and content developers to bring new lessons into TCI's online subscription as well as print books and notebooks. Tasks include entering slideshows in an HTML5 tool, entering and designing activities for students to interact with in our online subscriptions, and making design/functionality recommendations to the software team to ensure the best delivery of content.
