2010 TCI Leadership Conference: Focusing on Technology

On Sunday, 250 teachers and administrators will arrive here in northern California for TCI’s 2010 Leadership Conference. We affectionately refer to the conference as the “crown jewel” of our events. This year is no exception. Conference participants have more than 80 enrichment sessions to choose from that offer content ranging from introductory sessions for beginners to more advanced, best practice sessions for those more experienced using the TCI Approach. In addition to featuring TeachTCI in all of our sessions, we’re hosting a Geek Lab in which teachers will get their hands dirty teaching with our new technology. 27 of our fantastic teacher trainers will lead the sessions and share their years of collective wisdom using TCI.

As if that weren’t enough, we’re also launching TeacherGenius, a place where teachers can share ideas and learn best practices from one another. Our conference participants will be entered into a prize drawing for submitting ideas to TeacherGenius, and we’re inviting our online community to do the same. Be sure to check it out.

Finally, we’re unveling our newest technology at the conference. At the risk of spoiling the surprise, I’ll just say that I think it’s one mighty piece of classroom technology. We’ll share more with you after the official launch.

In this world of email, video conferencing, social media, and smart phones, I find something incredibly powerful and inspirational about gathering a group of like-minded educators together in person to engage in top level professional exchange. We at TCI learn so much in these few days that we’re together. The energy, dedication, and amazing best practices that we hear sustain us throughout the year and encourage us to continue pursuing our mission.

We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of everyone in California and encourage you to check out TeacherGenius and get involved!
